For the next instalment of The Bricks, Anna Wall has curated a second VA that brings together artist from all corners of the globe.

The A-side is by Santiago Uribe; he’s been living in Montevideo for fourteen years and is an integral part of the ever growing scene in Uruguay. Uribe made ‘Electro Metalero’ as a nod to industrial music, the resounding chords were created on the Nord Lead 2 alongside powerful drums and his own pitched down vocals.

LVCA aka Luca Cazal was born in Milan and currently resides in Barcelona. He created ‘Lethe’ - meaning the river of oblivion in Greek mythology - as a live hardware jam with his trusted analogue machines 707, 303, 101, Juno 60 and Eventide H3000 for the finesse. The track is an emotive and musical journey expressed through the voices of machines.

Growing up in Cherkasy, central Ukraine, Radiant Futur has lived in Kyiv for the last six years. The ‘Third Operator’ track is a story about the interaction of two objects and a third force affecting them. “This unknown is simultaneously mystical, magical, and incomprehensible but just as inseparable as time from space. This is a story about a dualistic concept of a fantastic world of people and machines, which surprisingly has a third element - the environment where everything happens.” explains Ian Yeromenko aka Radiant Futur.

The Young Adults duo are from The Hague and have been cultivating their sound since 2020. ‘Transfusion (200 μg/L)’ was created with the Orbit 9090 and various other gear including the Korg ESX and the Digitone. They wanted to strike a balance between trance music and genuine emotion, all grounded by a timeless groove. “The goal of the track is to draw you into an introspective, emotional trance” explains Jeff and Timo of Young Adults.

Summer is in the air, and Reflex Blue introduces his new personal imprint with a 4-track EP of groove-laden house music. Originating from his ever-evolving live set, the label focuses on releasing Blue’s tried, tested, and favourite jams. The record opens with a garage-leaning house roller featuring a rocking sub-bass, catchy drum work, and a unique fusion of 90s rave elements. The A2 track continues in a similar vein, primed for the festival beach stage with chopped ragga vocals, a warbling bass, and a playful organ solo. On the flip side, Reflex Blue expands the EP’s sonic palette with tracks that showcase his signature acid riffs and 90s homage stylings, layered over energised and skippy drum work. The record closes with perhaps the sweetest fruit of all: a nod to UK bass enthusiasts with a heady, speedy garage number. A word of warning, you might drop your mojito. These four quality-assured tracks are a must-have for your bag this summer, as Blue warmly welcomes you to his new vinyl series.
Uruguayan artist Luis Malon returns to OPIA with the Travelling Across EP, marking another chapter in his journey with the label. The EP captures Luis Malon’s signature sound, merging hypnotic grooves and complex patterns, all while staying true to the aesthetic that OPIA is known for.
Dance music traditionalist Tom Carruthers joins Craigie Knowes. Tom’s commitment to the ruff n’ ready sound of dance music’s formative years is unshaken on the De-Facto EP, bundled with the same synths, drum machines, samplers and FX used in the by-gone golden era of the UK acid, breaks and hardcore scenes. Soul is found in disorder, not in a world that places false hope in perfectionism.
With Fancy Footwork Vol. 2, the french label continues its journey through the landscape of electronic music, stepping into darker and more sophisticated territory. This second release brings together a lineup of cutting-edge French artists who shape a unique sonic narrative, pushing the boundaries of dance floor energy. While staying true to the label’s danceable essence, this compilation infuses a moodier, more serious tone that distinguishes it from Fancy Footwork’s first release. Each track pulses with intensity, fusing deep basslines, shadowy synths, and hypnotic rhythms that embody the raw edge of late-night club culture. This release is more than a collection of tracks; it’s an invitation into the deeper, darker corners of Fancy Footwork’s world..
London-based label Dancing With Strangers is back, after a brief hiatus, with the third edition being served up by none other than head honcho Oliver Moon.On his third solo outing as an artist, Moon delivers two solid tracks in the shape of ‘Downstream' and ‘Drifting’. Both of which exercise his signature raw take on production and showcase an ability to carry a consistent groove whilst weaving deep, dreamy sounds into classy percussive work.Dancing With Strangers Co-founder Agile Kind returns on remix duties to tackle ‘Downstream’ and does so wonderfully. Following the lead baseline, he layers lush pads around crisp skippy drum programming and lands on pure euphoria. Last but certainly not least, the inimitable Carl Finlow (2020 Vision) rounds off the EP with a stellar electro remix of ‘Drifting’. Leading with a thick, growling bass and fusing cinematic synth work with playful acid stabs, Finlow captures the essence of the original. The end result is a beautifully emotive track entwined with stunning melodic elements destined for the dancefloor.
