DJ Pipe and his Global North label reactivate with the ‘Health Bar’ EP—serving up four fresh cuts showcasing their typically dynamic and cerebral house-music-sound. Pull up a stool, inhale deeply and see that your energy levels are fully replenished…

A1 “Whirl Dee” comes in hot touting filtered loops, scribbled oscillations and a catchy bassline to make the people feel fine - Big Dance Energy! “Mystery Shopper” offers up more of the hot-stepping and highly-swung percussion upon which Pipe made his name. Sassy stabs and a mixed bag of squelches complete the picture.

Flip it over and find “Deeper Strains” leading the B-side—evoking turn-of-the-millennium progressive with its richly atmospheric pads, rolling grooves and elegant arrangement. “Just Relax!” brings the set to a dramatically dubbed-out conclusion with tumbling tribal drums and crafty chords, ultimately reminding us that the Health Bar is a venue dedicated to rejuvenation, wellbeing and gratification… don’t forget to sweat.

Kepler’s Perspective label is back and this time the spotlight is on rising talent, Philip Chernikov. Here he manages to capture exactly what was special about the early tech house movement across 4 functional and varied cuts. All four tracks have an addictive loopy groove, with hypnotic basslines, spacey atmospheres and eerie vocals.
Gated kick off 2023 with a corker of a remix package, featuring an epic electro workout from Radioactive Man and lo-fi deep house from Max Wheeler of Anushka fame.Marcela Dias Sindaco’s breathy Portuguese vocals always lent themselves to remixes and these five cuts use them to great effect.Keith Tenniswood’s storming version of Missao Controle kicks off the EP, with a near-8-minute bass-heavy acid monster that retains the original’s funky elements but pushes them way into the future.German upstarts not even noticed take Extincao nice and deep for those loved-up dancefloor moments, again bringing in melodic elements from the original, but twisting them just enough to flow into a dreamy acidic breakdown.Flip to the B and Anushka’s Max Wheeler goes it alone, with a deep and crackly analogue house version of Dois Lados. Injected with just a smidgeon of jazz, this is definitely one for the heads.Next up, longtime Gated collaborator Dip Shim, whose debut album only just dropped, brings a straight-up electro jam version of Pro Meu Bem, with haunting pads and insistent arpeggios.Rounding off the EP is Perseus Traxx’s deeper than deep take on Missao Controle, a tripped out reverby journey laden with his signature hardware sound.
This dancefloor-centric release boasts five tracks designed to captivate with their powerful beats and deep vibes, perfect for the summer season. The EP showcases resident artists Nicole (Satz) and Carriego (Over think, Lirica Archives, Cosa Nostra), as well as Italian artist Mariiin (Pleasure Club), Uruguayan artist Alfalfa (Mephis Records), and French artist Sekance (3Mâts Records).Embracing the fusion of sound and mysticism, the label aims to convey metaphysical and humanistic principles, promoting awakening and connection. Each EP in the series represents a spiritual journey through the chakras, with "Order Behind Chaos" focusing on the sacral chakra's orange hue, symbolizing creativity, emotional expression, and self-esteem.
London-based label Dancing With Strangers is back, after a brief hiatus, with the third edition being served up by none other than head honcho Oliver Moon.On his third solo outing as an artist, Moon delivers two solid tracks in the shape of ‘Downstream' and ‘Drifting’. Both of which exercise his signature raw take on production and showcase an ability to carry a consistent groove whilst weaving deep, dreamy sounds into classy percussive work.Dancing With Strangers Co-founder Agile Kind returns on remix duties to tackle ‘Downstream’ and does so wonderfully. Following the lead baseline, he layers lush pads around crisp skippy drum programming and lands on pure euphoria. Last but certainly not least, the inimitable Carl Finlow (2020 Vision) rounds off the EP with a stellar electro remix of ‘Drifting’. Leading with a thick, growling bass and fusing cinematic synth work with playful acid stabs, Finlow captures the essence of the original. The end result is a beautifully emotive track entwined with stunning melodic elements destined for the dancefloor.
