After almost 2 years in development, Manata’s debut LP - The Golden Age, is by far the most challenging project we had worked on until this day. This 9 track double vinyl represents perfectly what our vision is through music and what we aim to do as a label. In this album you will dive into Joao’s biggest influences between house and techno, a journey which will take you back to the golden era of electronic music. As you slide into the tracks, you can notice how the album goes from light to dark, with disc 1 delevering a more housy and groovy vibe, and disc 2 beeing more dark and energetic. Reachable to all ears and dancefloors is how we classify this golden nugget.
Coming fresh from the Caparica coast just south of Lisbon, Penelope’s label oDYSea debuts with this four-track VA of oceanic rollers. GNMR’s ‘Zen’ establishes the wavey mood with a splash of classic Soca vocals, while Pakzad takes things even deeper and drippier with ‘I Could Never Imagine’. Eversines brings us bleep n bass on ‘Randomized Controlled Trial’ before the mysterious Oscillator Man’s ‘Turning The Mix Up A Bit’ closes out the EP on a ravey acid high.
For this release we decided to go back to the golden era of house, where we found an old misterious producer called Zeno Pisu. You might know him from his obscure EP called “Electric Voyage” made in 1995, but we decided to dig a bit deeper then that. The track A1 “Waiting For A Train (Crystal Edge) is a reissue from the Train Driver record made by Zeno in 1996, a super weapon that we have been playing for some time now, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see this remastered specially for our label. We also went through old cassete tapes and some lost files to find the tracks A2, B1 and B2, which are some of Zeno’s unreleased productions made in the 90s, that are now finally seeing the light.
Second trip from BOOoo! Records includes tracks from a worldwide roster featuring Lamalice, Krijka and Ludovic amongst others.
Círculo Cerrado presents its second album “Circular Economy”, 4 tracks that span a wide range of textures with the common denominator of atemporality.A1. Rindeau, the Argentinian illustrator and music artist from Strain Collective, presents“Machine soul”, intelligently crafted with the best combination of electro-techno and EBM.A2. Galdar’s breed Aniano materializes another mind-blowing track with “Encadenado a la Realidad”, a house tune with funk overtones and psychedelic undertones.B1. Javier Carballo and Aniano aka HDZ brings a darker engine “ La Furnia ”, trailblazing from breaks, IDM to acid house for full voltage.B2. Frenchman Tom Joyce, owner of Sounds Benefit label, captures in “ Good Game“ a hypnotic and minimalistic track with hints of tripping on top of 909 drums.
