Coming 7 years after his first release "Structures", this opus features 8 tracks of a radical, meditative and introspective contemporary dub music. The origin of « Looking North » takes place during the years 2018-19 when Adi Shankara repetitively visited Dublin. He spent hours admiring the bay, wanderings into the docks, between the sea and the industrial infrastructures. This truly fascinated him. « Looking North » expresses his nostalgia of the city through subtle contemplative and hypnotic compositions, where many musical influences meet, from incidental music to vaporous dub-techno and strong stepper beats. Worthy heir of the distinctive French electro dub touch, Adi Shankara delivers here a true masterpiece. Let yourself be hypnotized, and maybe you’ll perceive some shapes emerging through the fog.
For the second release of Cartulis sub label ALT delivers a VA with some of the hottest producers around. A1 is Prince de Takicardie's new aka. A rolling stripped back track with maximum effectiveness for the dancefloor. Uruguayan DJ/Producer Cabanelas delivers A2 with Sambu y Los Morsas. A techno/house infused track with a touch of romanticism on the back. Cartulis resident and master of the craft Z@p brings the heat to the B side with what some would feel like a resemblance to his past work for Cartulis with Tracid. After hours tip! B2 is a techno work out by old school producers Justin Drake and Paranoid London's main man Quinn Whalley that will keep any dancefloor engaged.
Partout welcomes The Men From Atlantis 25 years after Skipjack EP.
